Mary Shields – Trigger-point Shiatsu Therapist

Mary Graduated from The Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy in 1978 and was certified to practice Shiatsu Therapy in 1979, Acupuncture and TCM in 1986, and Cranio-Sacral Therapy in 1987. Mary practiced for 20 years as an RMT until a car accident interrupted her professional practice. After a period away from treating her clients, Mary is proud to be back practicing as a Trigger-point Shiatsu Therapist at Jody’ Pendry and Associates.

Mary’s goal: To help people find natural pain relief through a unique approach using a variety of hands-on therapeutic techniques which includes Trigger-point work, Cranial-sacral therapy and Shiatsu. Shiatsu is a unique, non-invasive manual therapy from Japan that stimulates the body’s inherent ability to heal itself. Literally translated, the word shiatsu means “finger pressure.” The therapy involves the systematic application of pressure, using the thumbs primarily, to different points on the soft tissues of the body in order to assess and treat a variety of conditions.

Mary has been a leader in various community development projects in the Town of Erin and continues to devote herself to the health and well-being of the community.

Trigger-point Shiatsu treatments are approximately 1 ½ hours in duration. @ $120 including HST
